Season of Cambodia Festival

Cambodian Living Arts initiated the Season of Cambodia festival with the goal of celebrating the resurgence of Cambodian arts and culture. The festival debuted in New York City in 2013, featuring 125 Cambodian artists. It showcased various art forms, including dance, visual arts, film, music, and engaged in discussions at various venues in the city.

In 2018, the festival continued in Paris, offering diverse programs like screenings, exhibitions, conferences, literary, and musical events at various venues throughout the city. These cultural activities have significantly shifted the global perception of Cambodia. Thanks to the efforts of many organizations and individuals over the past 30 years, Cambodia is increasingly being celebrated.

As we approach 50 years since the fall of Phnom Penh to the Khmer Rouge, which began four years of their genocidal regime, there is a desire to commemorate the resilience and evolution of Cambodia.

To do this, we are inviting global participation through a reinitiation of the Season of Cambodia festival in 2025. The idea is to showcase various cultural activities and foster dialogue among the Cambodian diaspora worldwide.

This program allows individuals, groups, or communities within the community to organize cultural activities wherever they reside.

These events are designed to enhance engagement and commemorate 50 years since the fall of the Khmer Rouge with the goal of strengthening intergenerational connections and celebrating the past 30 years of dedication and innovation within the Cambodian arts scene worldwide. It also provides a platform for the younger generation and members of the Cambodian diaspora to stay connected to their cultural heritage.
